"I attended the newborn mentoring session with Stella this past weekend, and it was truly an amazing experience! She was so willing to share all her knowledge, tips, advice and answered any questions I had! I got to be a part of, and watch the whole process, from the set up and throughout the shoot to the end. The little model, Diego, was an absolute cutie-pie!! and cooperated very well with us for Stella to get amazing shots of him and his parents!!
For anyone interested in getting knowledge about newborn photography, I strongly recommend newborn mentoring sessions!! You really learn so much!! Thanks again for a great experience and your willingness to help!!"

I still feel I want to do something for those that want to get into this side of photography, so have come up with the mentoring sessions...basically, you send me your details and as soon as a newborn is booked, I will let you know. Please bear in mind that I normally book these sessions in the week around 11h00. There are some on the weekends, but those are more scarce.
You will come through a little before the session and we will have a chat about communicating with the parents, posing the baby and prop setup, flow of a session, and the little tricks that you learn as you go along. Once the session starts, you will mostly be an observer to see how I do a session but I will also involve you with some of the poses and explain what I'm doing and why throughout the session. The aim is that you walk out of there with the knowledge to do your own session and to improve your confidence.
If this appeals to you, drop me a mail on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and I will send you all the information :)

In the last week, I have had a few people contact me regarding newborn photography...how to pose them, how to get them to sleep, etc...
Now I know I am not the best newborn photographer out there, not by any chance, and I am still learning at each new session, but I have learnt some things over the last few years. There are some wonderful photogs out there that are more than willing to help and share their knowledge, but when I started out I found it very difficult, first of all...who do you ask and secondly, will they help and won't I be stepping on toes etc etc...so, I stumbled on and did research, more research and then just practised in the studio.
(I'm lazy, ok
)
So, leave me a comment if you might like to attend a workshop in my studio and play with little bitty ones for a whole day.
