December, January and February was a blur - the studio was crazy busy and weddings had to be edited...and inbetween time just slipped away and I never got to post some of the weddings that I assisted on - I love second shooting weddings! It is all the emotion and adrenalin without the stress :)  You can play and try new things and just soak up all the happiness...so without further ado - Jutine and karel's urban wedding rocked!!!

Introducing Susanne and Alan ... they got married barefoot under the trees at Longmeadow, surrounded by family and friends in a relaxed and laid-back ceremony that had a few people in tears :) Cocktails on the lawn, purple blooms everywhere, followed by some serious partying...a wedding that was all about love and celebration.  What could be better?

Thank you Andrea for letting me tag along and to the ladies from Fields of Colour.

Jennipher and Kombe have known each other since they were children, they grew up in neighbouring farms in Zambia...but it took a move to America to finally bring them together.  They now live in Australia and decided to have a destination wedding in SA.  The guests all flew in from Zambia (some of them have not seen each other in 9 years ) so it was a very special wedding indeed.  Little brothers have become men, best friends have gotten married and had little ones, things have changed but the love between all the people there stayed the same.

I think what I will remember most about this wedding is the way Kombe looks at Jen...he looks like he is made out of chocolate and is melting :) How can you not adore a man that looks at you like that?? And Jennipher, you are one of the sweetest people I have ever met...and up for anything! Thank you so much for trusting me, it was such a pleasure meeting you both xxx

A huge shout out to the fabulous staff of Morrells - great food, great service! And the my second shooter, Corinna - some of these images are hers...

So, the last 2 weeks have been a technological nightmare! My ADSL line is down and whilst waiting for Telkom to hopefully someday sort it out, I am on wireless that is excruciatingly slow...it takes 10 minutes to load an image on the blog and then it crashes after every few :( So my hugest apologies if you are waiting for your blog post, I promise you I haven't forgotten...its coming.

Ok, back to Nicole and Patrick...

Patrick booked me from the UK a few months ago and through our correspondence, we realised that he used to spend many a Sunday night at Derek's gig at Hard Rock Cafe...and many a Monday morning regretting it :) Well, I knew would love them - he likes my husband's music - how could they be anything but great? ;) So, when we finally met a few days before the wedding, it felt like we have known each other for ages.

They wanted something different for their creatives - something African, something Joburg. So instead of heading into town for some urban images, we decided to rather climb Mellville Koppies.  Well, let me tell you, its steep! And Nicole did it in her wedding dress without hesitation - you were amazing!  Thank you as well to Wendy from FOMK for organising us access ad being our guide :)

One more thing I need to mention - these people know how to have a good party - there was tequila, singing, and general mayhem on the dance floor - a great group of friends and family!

Congrats you guys!!!! Enjoy the images. Finally.
