Duration of sessions:

Maternity and family sessions ordinarily lasts about an hour, depending on the size of the group. 

A newborn session normally last between 2 - 3 hours as we will work around baby’s needs and mood and take our time to ensure that baby is as comfortable as possible.. We make time for feedings, a cuddle or to get daddy changed after being peed on (yes, it WILL happen).  Don’t be rushed and don’t worry if he/ she needs attention or feeding, their comfort and safety always comes first.  

As soon as baby is born, please contact me to schedule the newborn shoot.  It is of course completely up to you to book when you feel comfortable, but the newborn shoot should preferably happen within a week of the birth.  This is so that we can get those special photos of “curled up”, peaceful and sleeping babies.  After the first week, they sleep less, move those little arms and legs continuously and tend to have breakouts of baby acne.  I strongly urge you to do it in the first week, it is easier on the parents and safer and more comfortable for the little ones.

Editing:

Post-processing is just as important as the session itself. I include digital retouching such as removal of stretch marks and blemishes in my packages to ensure that you get the best quality photographs. 
All photographs are shot in digital colour and can be converted into black & white or sepia.

Blog:

A few days after your session, a blog preview will be available on the website. I will email a link to you which you can pass along to anyone who might be interested in viewing your images.

Rates:

I don't like to surprise my clients with extra charges.  My session fee includes the photo shoot, a blog preview and a disc with all the photos of your session (originals and a certain amount edited).  I do not like to sell packages as it feels as I am forcing my clients to buy things they might not want.  Whatever extra you want after the session, you choose and I will provide you with the relevant pricing.  I will send you a printing pricelist should you wish.  Please bear in mind that I do not guarantee the quality and colour accuracy of prints not done through the studio.

Booking procedure:

Please contact me should you be interested in booking a session. Once I receive your enquiry, I will send you a quote which will be valid for 48 hours. This quote does not guarantee your date as I do quote more than one person per date and timeslot. Bookings will only be confirmed once a 50% retainer has been paid, proof of payment has been received and a contract has been signed off. The rest of the fee is payable prior or on the day of the shoot.
