My parents were here for a few days and left for home (Cape Town) this morning, my mom is still fighting the cancer and the fight is getting ugly. But having them here made me realise again the importance of family…also, the responsibility you have as a wedding photographer.
What might become a job to us means the world to someone else, the images of the people you capture, the moments as the day unfolds, the nerves…these people and moments are someone’s memories. I am still so passionate about weddings, I love being part of someone’s life for that one special day. We sometimes get caught up in the art of it, the light, that one shot that we want to blog…but in the end, its not about us, its about family and friends and love and I feel blessed to do what I do.
Leigh and Charley’s wedding was exactly that, a day spent with family and friends, people who adore them and were there to witness their union. They flew in from England to get married in Leigh’s hometown at the gorgeous Morrells. Despite the weather being a throwback on winter, nothing dampened the joy of the day…the decor was gorgeous, the little touches that they brought in were unique and special to them and their love story…and the two of them are such beautiful people, they nearly shine 🙂 It was a truly beautiful wedding!!
Charley doesn’t like photographs, (he really, really doesn’t 🙂 but we managed to sneak a few minutes with the two of them.. thank you both for letting me share in your joy!
Thank you to me second for the day, Henriette
